Targeted at mid-level officers and managers from the public and private sector, as well as leaders of businesses and civil society organizations from the Oil & Gas, Water & Electricity, Transport, Building, Industry and Waste sectors in UAE, the sectoral capacity building sessions aimed to identify and assess opportunities for green industries and green jobs for each of the sectors and discuss sector based technologies as new engines for growth.

Initiated by the UAE government and jointly organized by the Global Green Growth Institute, UNEP Risø Centre and the Korean Environment Institute, the workshops invited experts from different sectors to guide and provide technical advice to participants who had come from the seven emirates.

In addition, partner organizations for the event were PETRAD, a non-profit Norwegian government foundation, Holmboe Consulting – an independent Danish consultancy company, and the United Nation’s Environment Programme’s Sustainable Building and Climate Initiative (UNEP-SBCI).
