The final step in a Technology Needs Assessment process is the preparation of Technology Action Plans. These plans lay out climate technology pathways for implementing the Paris Agreement. This guide book for preparing Technology Action Plans was prepared in 2016 based on a COP 20 request to the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee to provide guidance on how the results of the Technology Needs Assessment can be developed into projects for implementation.
To increase the exchange of knowledge and experience sharing between countries, the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee decided in 2017 to update the existing guidebook for preparing Technology Action Plans with information on how to track the implementation status of Technology Action Plans.
