Join the launch of the 2023 Climate Technology Progress Report in a webinar presenting the main results on climate action progress in terms of implementation of climate technology.
The world is at a critical turning point in the battle against the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Current levels of climate technology implementation are inadequate to address this challenge. Meeting national and international climate targets requires efficient and rapid scaling up of the implementation and use of climate technologies.
COP28, is a pivotal opportunity for the international community to scale up climate action, with climate finance, along with technology transfer and capacity-building, as key issues.
The Climate Technology Progress Report asks the following questions, all within the context of enhancing technology development and transfer:
- What progress is being made?
- What has enabled it?
- Where are the gaps?
- Building on this understanding, how do we better enhance climate technology development and transfer?
The Climate Technology Progress Report 2023 is a collaboration between UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre and the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism – the United Nations Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) and the UNFCCC Technology Executive Committee (TEC). The report has been prepared by an international team of 33 experienced scientists.
