Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are at the forefront of the climate crisis, demonstrating unparalleled leadership for global Climate Action and the drive to implement their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). However, translating these ambitious climate commitments into concrete, scalable, and financed actions remains a critical challenge. SIDS are frequently constrained by severe administrative, technical, and financial bottlenecks.
To address these challenges, the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre, the NDC Partnership, the Center for Access to Climate Finance and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), are proud to present a joint three-part virtual event series.
Building on the recommendations of the “Technical Brief: Recommendations for Advancing NDC Implementation and Readiness Across Small Island Developing States” and the outcomes of the Mauritius “Regional Forum for Practitioners in Small Island Developing States on Advancing NDC Implementation Readiness”, this series will map out practical pathways to strengthen local capacity, streamline climate finance, and scale up adaptation resilience as we head toward COP31.
