Bolivia – Various Consultancies

UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre is looking for a number of consultants to support our work in Bolivia.

Bolivia is revising its 32 NDC targets (2021–2030) to address new challenges and opportunities in sectors like agriculture, water, energy, forestry, and now also waste and industry. The update is part of Bolivia’s commitment to the Paris Agreement, aiming to enhance adaptation, mitigation, and resilience to climate change.
The update will align with the Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS) and improve GHG emissions modeling and monitoring indicators.

In this context, the Centre is looking to fill the following positions:

Local Coordinator

This consultant will provide on-the-ground support for the experts and assist in logistics, data gathering, and stakeholder coordination. Reporting to the Project Manager at UNEP-CCC, this consultant will:

  • Coordinate the local team ensuring good articulation between the local consultants with the thematic experts at UNEP-CCC.
  • Support the Project manager on activities for planning, coordination, and execution and ensure that the process is aligned with national needs and in close coordination with sectoral institutions.
  • Articulate and consolidate efforts with other complementary support being managed by MMAYA and APMT for NDC 3.0.

International Mitigation Consultant on AFOLU

This international consultant is required to have solid experience in the AFOLU sector, especially in modelling emission reduction scenarios with NEXT tool. Additionally, this consultant will:

  • Work with a local AFOLU consultant and supervise and support data collection to populate the modelling tool NEXT
  • Train the local team on the use of the modelling tool NEXT
  • Deliver findings on AFOLU emission scenarios and mitigation options in AFOLU, including costs.

Local Mitigation and Adaptation Consultant on AFOLU

This consultant would be responsible for the AFOLU sector and support the international AFOLU consultant with local data collection and consultations. Additionally, this consultant will:

  • Support the information and data collection process required
  • Take part in general training to acquire relevant modelling expertise, and support the delivery/coordination of the training.
  • Scenarios modelling under international consultant supervision
