UNEP DTU Partnership has recently started implementing a new strategy and new organizational structure to reflect the evolving needs of our partner countries in the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the SDGs.
In this process we are seeking highly motivated and experienced experts to be part of our Strategic Management Team.
Activities are organized in three strategy areas:
– Climate Planning and Policy
– Transparency and Accountability
– Business Models and Markets
Projects in the three strategy areas draw in a matrix structure on staff organized in five substantive sections.
In order to consolidate and strengthen the new organization we are recruiting Heads of Strategy for both the Transparency and Accountability area and for the Business Models and Markets area.
On Transparency and Accountability, UDP is assisting countries and non-state actors to establish transparency systems that facilitate reporting and documentation of the results and impacts of the NDCs. The strategic area is a direct response to article 13 of the Paris Agreement.
On Business Models and Markets, the focus is to support well-functioning markets and business models to be established and deployed in developing countries and thereby unlocking investments in mitigation and adaptation actions from the private sector.
Expectations for a Head of Strategy
Main functions include:
– Development of the strategic focus area with clear and ambitious targets and KPIs
– Ensure that the project portfolio follows the plans and deliver results
– Initiate development of new projects and actively lead on fundraising
– Maintain relations internally at DTU and with UN Environment counterparts, country partners and strategic donors and collaborators
