UNEP-CCC is recruiting a lead coordinator to provide overall technical support for the development of The Gambia’s NDC 3.0 in line with the the country’s Long Term Strategy (LTS) and to prepare the document for government review and approval.
Expected results:
- Validated methodological framework, engagement strategy, and work plan established through an inception workshop.
- Mapping of national actions and gaps against IPCC guidance, COP decisions, GST1 findings, and other relevant sources, supporting strategic alignment.
- Effective coordination of stakeholder consultations. Draft NDC 3.0 developed, including updated mitigation and adaptation measures through 2035, emissions projections (BAU and baseline), and classification of actionsIntegration of NDC–LTS alignment recommendations, validated assumptions, and modeling methodologies in coordination with 2050 Pathways and LTS teams.
- Monitoring framework for NDC 3.0 finalized, including key indicators and protocols to track implementation progress.
- Final NDC 3.0 document completed, validated through a national workshop, and accompanied by an ICTU-compliant annex of key information.
