The RMI is highly vulnerable to climate change, facing existential risks due to sea level rise and increasing weather extremes. The government has demonstrated strong climate leadership by committing to ambitious NDCs. To support the implementation of its NDC 3.0 and related climate finance strategies, UNEP-CCC seeks to recruit a national mid-level consultant to serve as a local liaison and technical coordinator.
The consultant will be instrumental in aligning the project outputs with the Marshallese policy context, facilitating capacity building, and enabling effective stakeholder engagement as well as data collection and generation (when needed). Their work will directly contribute to the implementation of the NDC 3.0, the revised Development Assistance Policy, and mobilization of climate finance. One local travel is planned to conduct community site visits to increase awareness of the latest NDCs 3.0.
