Alex is a writer and photographer passionate about storytelling focused on shared human values and our common foundation in healthy ecosystems.
Alex has worked in journalism and development communications and research in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Timor-Leste, and Cuba, across a range of United Nations agencies, including UNEP, UNDP, ILO, and UN Habitat.
His experience – ranging from sensitive in-field interviews to high-level policy investigations – means he excels at translating complex and specialised topics into accessible visual and written content. With graduate and post-graduate qualifications in Middle East studies, environmental science, public relations and political economy, Alex brings strong critical thinking and analytic skills to his work.
Outside of his UNEP work, Alex finds balance and inspiration in surfing, salsa dancing and learning about cultures, languages, and psychology.
