Dr. Ayesha Parvez holds a PhD in Public Health and is currently serving as Chief Waste-to-Value at the Suthra Punjab Authority, Government of Punjab. She is a pioneering force behind Punjab’s emerging Waste-to-Value and circular economy agenda, leading the transition from conventional waste disposal towards resource recovery, recycling, renewable energy, alternative fuels, carbon mitigation and climate finance.
She has spearheaded the development of a diverse portfolio of Waste-to-Value initiatives across Punjab, including landfill methane valorization, Material and Biological Treatment (MBT), RDF and industrial co-processing, organic-waste valorization, biogas and biofertilizer projects, recycling initiatives, and innovative public-private partnerships with leading national and international organizations.
A significant milestone in her international engagement was her representation of Punjab’s environmental transformation at COP30 in Belém, Brazil, under the theme “From Indus to Amazon” — connecting Punjab’s climate and circular-economy journey with the global climate dialogue. Through this platform, she highlighted Punjab’s evolving Waste-to-Value vision, climate-mitigation potential and opportunities for international collaboration and carbon finance.
Her work has helped bring international visibility and recognition to Punjab’s Waste-to-Value programme and has fostered engagement with international development agencies, climate-finance institutions and technical partners.
Bringing together expertise in public health, environmental sustainability, climate action and waste-resource management, Dr. Ayesha Parvez is helping redefine waste in Punjab — not as something to be discarded, but as a resource capable of generating environmental, economic and social value.
