Denis works as Senior Adviser in research and capacity development on long term planning for climate change mitigation in developing countries. Denis manages and participates in several projects. He coordinates, among others, the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) which is a multi-donors initiative focusing on climate transparency in 20 countries, and the Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions for Low Carbon Island Development Strategy in Mauritius.
Denis’ work history spans three continents: Europe, Latin America & Caribbean, and Africa. He started working as a researcher at the Free University of Brussels (ULB) and later moved to Cuba (2004) where he worked as a researcher at Havana University. From 2005 to 2011 he worked in Cuba as Energy & Environment Programme Specialist for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). During this period, he was in charge of the Energy, Environment and Climate Change portfolio including national and regional projects.
Denis holds a Masters’ degree and PhD in in Agronomical Sciences and Biotechnology from the Free University of Brussels (ULB) in Belgium.
