Gigi Owen

Research Scientist

Gigi Owen is a social scientist at the Arizona Institute of Resilience and the Climate Assessment for the Southwest (CLIMAS) at the University of Arizona. She earned her PhD in Geography by assessing adaptation actions around the world and evaluating the outcomes of collaborative research projects within the CLIMAS program. Her work informs local and regional climate action in the U.S. Southwest related to small-scale agriculture, water availability, and community-based adaptation initiatives. She evaluates the societal impacts of research, or how research contributes to solving global challenges.
