Khetsiwe joined UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre as a Transparency Officer in July 2023 and is working in the Mitigation Analysis and Data Management Section where she is focused on climate transparency. She has a broad and interdisciplinary knowledge and practical experience on climate science and policy. Before joining the Centre, Khetsiwe was leading the national climate change programme in Eswatini where she gained practical experience in setting up institutional arrangements for climate transparency, policy formulation and climate finance. She also has several years of experience in international climate change negotiations on transparency and article 6.
Khetsiwe holds a master’s degree in Atmospheric Science and Meteorology from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in China, and a master’s Degree in Sustainable Energy Systems from the University of Flensburg, Germany.
