Senator Dr. Musadik Masood Malik is the Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination in the Government of Pakistan, appointed in March 2025. In this capacity, he leads national efforts to advance climate policy, environmental sustainability, and resilience-building across economic sectors. Dr. Malik is a seasoned politician and technocrat with extensive experience in public policy, energy market transformation, and environmental governance. Prior to his current role, he has held multiple federal portfolios, including Federal Minister for Petroleum and Water Resources, and has been a member of the Senate of Pakistan. His strategic leadership spans governance, climate action, and institutional reform, reflecting a commitment to mainstreaming sustainable development and green financing mechanisms. Under his stewardship at MoCC&EC, Pakistan has pursued strengthened climate action aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and national climate resilience strategies. Dr. Malik has emphasized the importance of integrated policies to address pollution, climate risks, and environmental degradation while fostering inclusive partnerships across government, the private sector, and international stakeholders. He holds advanced academic qualifications in healthcare administration, policy, and strategy from the University of Illinois and has advised governments on economic, energy, and environmental issues on domestic and international stages.
