Zura Nukusheva-Beguin

Waste Specialist and Project Management

Zura Nukusheva is a waste management specialist with a technical background in waste systems and experience across international organisations and local government. She works with the UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), where she provides technical support on waste methane and manages programmes helping countries reduce emissions through improved organic waste management, policy implementation and the development of mitigation projects for financing. Previously, Zura worked for the Paris Region and the City of Paris on waste management and circular economy, including waste strategies and the assessment and financing of local projects. Earlier, at UNEP’s Climate Change Division, she worked on energy efficiency and e-waste, and with the International Resource Panel on resource use and its links to climate change and waste generation. Zura holds a specialised engineering degree in Waste Management from École des Mines/ENGEES, a Master’s from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor’s from Middlebury College.
