UNEP DTU Partnership participates in Culture Night 2015

October 12, 2015

9 October – UN City in collaboration with United Nations Association opened its doors to the public on the occasion of the annual Culture Night event in Copenhagen.

Organized two weeks before the celebration of UN’s 70 years anniversary and two weeks after the adoption of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, culture night was an opportune occasion for the United Nations Association (UNA) and staff from organisations present in the UN City to take people on a journey through the new 17 goals, the negotiation system of the UN and global security issues.

UNEP DTU Partnership presented UNEP’s work in support of SDG goal 7 ‘Affordable and Clean Energy’ and goal 13 ‘Climate Action’. UDP interacted with visitors during the Knowledge Hunt which focussed on learning more about the 17 new Sustainable Development Goals and helping them answer questions relating to energy access and sustainable transport.

The evening also involved a Model United Nations negotiation event, screening of the film ”The man who saved the world”, and an opportunity to engage in a discussion with Secretary of UN’s Economic Commission for Europe, Christian Friis Bach, who talked about his work in the UN system and his view on the UN.
