Assessing the Climate and Sustainable Development Impacts of Projects and Policies

The climate change and the sustainable development agendas are inextricably linked. Policies and projects promoting sustainable development can increase stakeholder support and reduce the costs of implementing climate action to achieve ambitious climate targets. At the same time, a sustainable future will not be possible without bold and transformative climate actions. Both the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development reflect these interconnections and interdependencies.

To help promote climate and sustainable development synergies and avoid trade-offs, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies, the Asian Development Bank, and UNEP-DTU Partnership on behalf of the Sustainable Development Initiative have partnered to co-organize a virtual knowledge-exchange webinar series on assessing climate and sustainable development co-benefits in projects and policies.

The first webinar was held 8 December 2021 and introduces how several international organisations and research institutions are using tools to assess the sustainable development impacts of climate change and development projects. Find the agenda, slides and video recordings below.
