From 30 November – 12 December, COP28 will convene in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
World leaders, experts, organizations and the private sector meet to tackle the urgent threat of global climate change.
Together with our partners, UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre joins the efforts to prevent global temperatures from rising above 1.5C and protect our planet and people from the intensifying impacts of climate change.
COP28 marks the conclusion of the first Global Stocktake, the main mechanism to assess progress under the Paris Agreement to help align the efforts on climate action and bridge the gaps in progress.
At COP28, UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre will engage in a broad range of events and discussions to share knowledge and drive much needed ambition, focusing on the following areas:
- Climate finance and carbon markets under Article 6
- Climate technology implementation
- Climate adaptation and loss and damage
- Climate transparency
- NDC implementation
- Energy transition and energy efficiency
As well as present the latest climate science and the findings of the 2023 Emissions Gap report and Adaptation Gap Report.
